kntting two socks at a time

This has been such a busy week with lots of crafts projects going on at the same time.  In order to get ready for Advent and Christmas I have been using any spare few seconds to work on something. That means that there hasn’t been much time left to write.  But soon I’ll have lots  more things to show!

So here is one finished project: a simple pair of socks. This is the second time I tried knitting two socks at once on two circular needles. I’m actually very surprised I did it again because I so did not enjoy it the first time. The logic? I wanted the socks quickly. I really didn’t want to risk finishing one sock and not finding the energy to start the second one.  If you have ever asked yourself if it’s worth knitting two socks at once and what is the best method check out this article by Wendy at Knit and Tonic. She weighs all pros and cons of five sock knitting methods!

I must say that I personaly don’t enjoy the mechanics of knitting with two circular needles and all the problems that come with it:  the tedious turning of the work at the end of the rows, always worrying about the yarn coming from two different balls getting entangled or having yarn coming through from between the two needles and creating an extra undesired  stitch.  The traditional four needles are a much more elegant method and give me much more pleasure as far as knitting goes… but I do love that by the time I finish knitting with the two circular needles I will have a pair of socks ready to be used!

A lógica?
