Whimsy projects

I actually love projects that manifest themselves out of a whim. They appear like this, out of the blue into my head and all of the sudden I catch myself jumping the project queue to tend to these things that can’t wait to materialise themselves into the world.  Here are two recent whimsy ones. I knitted those socks for Marta out of scrap yarn. I wound two balls with the same amount the yarn for each colour (about 6 yards) joining them with a very tight double knot. I then went back to using two circular needles just so I don’t forget how to do it. I’m really happy with the socks and so is Marta. The other was a set of three little acorns for our nature table. I knew I had to give it a go when I found them here on the Natural Suburbia blog. What will be next?

 

 

Eu adoro projetos que se manifestam de um impulso. Eles vêm assim, do nada e de repente eu me vejo furando a fila dos projetos para dar atenção a essas coisas que não podem esperar para se materializarem. Aqui estão dois projetos desses recentes. Eu fiz essas meias para a Marta com restos de fios de outros projetos. Eu enrolei dois novelos com o mesmo comprimento de fio para cada cor (uns seis metros se você está interessada) dando um nó duplo bem apertado para juntá-los. Eu então voltei a usar duas agulhas circulares só para não esquecer como se faz. Eu adorei o resultado e Marta também. O outro projeto foi esse conjunto de “acorns” para a nossa mesa da natureza. Eu sabia que teria que fazê-los no minuto que me deparei com ele no blog Natural Suburbia. Qual será o próximo?
